Dear Friends and Colleagues,
I hope that this letter finds you well - for some it is now summer and for others the beauty of winter is now in full swing. It has been a year since our last Congress in Aviemore, Scotland, and it is now time to begin preparing for our next meeting together.
The 18th ISSS Congress in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, hosted by Professor Veit Senner, is now officially set for 26 April-2 May 2009. Please look for information at www.isssweb.com or directly at www.isss2009.com (just up and running - more info to follow on this site in the coming months). The Congress will be held at the magnificant Riessersee hotel.
It is also an important time for the ISSS as we seek to expand our membership and participation in the Society. We thank all of the current members who have continued to pay their dues. The last membership period ended 31 March 2008, so it is now time to ask ALL members and friends of the society to please consider renewing your membership or joining our society for the first time.
There are two ways to pay your dues - 1) credit card payment - please go to www.isssweb.com and go to Become a Member; 2) print out the subscription notice and send either a bank draft/bank check (no personal checks please) or a wire transfer (see attached instructions). The membership rates are as follows:
- US$150 individual
- US$300 corporation
- US$ 75 student
Members will receive a free copy of the Special Technical Publication (STP) published through ASTM International that is published following each of our Congress meetings. Please note the fees for the upcoming Congress in Germany - we hope this will provide incentive to join the Society. Prices below are in Euros.
